The 1-800-SWEEPER Foundation raised $33,324.76 in 2025 for K9s For Warriors, exceeding its $30,000 goal by $3,324.76. The campaign covered the cost of Murphy, a service dog trained to become a Battle Buddy for a veteran.

K9s For Warriors trains service dogs for veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, or military sexual trauma. The dogs learn tasks that help their future partners navigate daily life with greater confidence and independence. Many of the dogs in the program are rescues, giving them a new purpose while supporting veterans who need them.

In a December 2025 update, Murphy was still hard at work. He practiced following instructions from different trainers, stayed focused during an outing in historic St. Augustine, and worked on “my lap,” a task that provides calming deep pressure. For a closer look at that stage of his training, Read the December 2025 Pupdate Here. Since that update, Murphy has completed his training, become a veteran’s Battle Buddy, and is doing well.

The Foundation thanks every donor, fundraising partner, company, friend, and family member who helped bring the campaign past its goal. Their generosity helped make Murphy’s journey possible.
