Kerr County, TX – September 2025 – The 1-800-SWEEPER Foundation has announced a donation of $5,000 to the Kerr County Community Foundation to support recovery and relief efforts following the devastating flooding that struck Kerr County, Texas, in July 2025.
The disaster, fueled by rapidly rising water levels along the Guadalupe River, caused catastrophic damage in the region. Particularly hard hit was the low-lying Camp Mystic, where the sudden surge of floodwaters overwhelmed the area. In total, at least 117 lives were lost across Kerr County, including 27 at Camp Mystic alone, making this one of the deadliest floods in recent Texas history.
Known as part of the “flash flood alley,” the region is no stranger to severe weather, but the magnitude and speed of this event caught many residents off guard. The county lacked a comprehensive flood warning system, intensifying the impact and raising urgent questions about preparedness and future safety measures.
The Kerr County Community Foundation has been on the front lines of recovery, working to provide direct assistance to affected families, repair infrastructure, and address long-term community needs. The 1-800-SWEEPER Foundation’s contribution will help strengthen these efforts and provide immediate relief to those most affected by the disaster.
“The loss of life and destruction caused by this flood is heartbreaking,” the Foundation stated. “We are committed to supporting communities in times of crisis, and we hope this donation will provide meaningful assistance to Kerr County as it begins the difficult process of rebuilding.”
The 1-800-SWEEPER Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to helping communities nationwide, stepping in to provide resources and financial support when disasters strike.
